January is a time for reflection, and when it comes to Profesia Days, we can proudly state that another successful year has just concluded. The career festivals spanned Slovakia, moving from west to east, featuring both major industry players and smaller companies.
The largest job opportunity festival, under the auspices of Alma Career, was traditionally hosted in Bratislava, Košice, and Žilina. Profesia Days provides an annual platform for not only companies operating in Slovakia to gain visibility but also for job seekers, making it an ideal space for networking.
The event began in spring in Bratislava, where Profesia Days celebrated its 15th year. More than 70 exhibitors participated, and over 6,700 registered visitors attended. Two moderators hosted the event at The Old Market Hall, and visitors could listen to 58 speakers.
In Žilina, the festival was held for the fourth time, with over 45 companies presenting their businesses in September. In October, Košice hosted the sixth edition of Profesia Days, featuring more than 60 participating companies.
Last year, company participation was once again strong, with both private and public entities using the opportunity to introduce themselves to potential employees. Some companies even received awards from our "secret agents." These agents evaluated the exhibitors undercover, assessing their communication skills, knowledge, and originality—criteria similar to what regular visitors might look for when searching for a new job or navigating the labor market.
How did companies fare under the secret agents’ evaluations this year? In Bratislava, the agents awarded the National Highway Company and named ING Hubs the overall winner. “The victory was incredibly close, with small details like flyers or booth design making the difference,” noted Dáša, one of the secret agents.
In all three cities, Lidl Slovakia received recognition for its booth from the secret agents, adding another point of success for this employer. The agents described all the events this year as full of inspirational individuals representing their employers. “The selection was extremely tough, and tiny details made the difference. For third place, the National Highway Company impressed us with the option to build your own bridge. Second place, Lidl Slovakia, stood out with its sustainability initiatives and activities. The winner, ING Hubs, distinguished itself with an innovative style of displaying materials. Instead of flyers with job descriptions and benefits, they provided cards with QR codes for each position,” explained secret agent Anna.
Profesia Days is a space where companies can gain visibility not only through job opportunities but also by showcasing their work, products, and services, which visitors can easily associate with the brand. Creativity has no limits—companies often organize contests, offer refreshments from their product range, set up entertainment or fitness corners, and demonstrate technologies and job roles.
What can participation in Profesia Days bring to your company?
There’s nothing better than face-to-face contact with job seekers, especially during a time when companies are actively competing for quality employees. Profesia Days guarantees such in-person meetings, and they will, of course, continue next year. After the Prague event in March, an April event will follow in Bratislava, with Žilina hosting in September and Košice in October.
This career opportunity festival is the perfect platform for your company to showcase itself and attract active and motivated employees. Want to join? Write to us!
